Gabi Sayings

"Last one up is a rotten egg, papa!" Gabi screamed as he ran up the stairs. It was the first time he ever said that. He probably learned it from an older cousin since we had just come home from family dinner.

Of course, I came in last. It was just the two of us. And he had a three step advantage.

"You're the rotten egg, papa."

"Okay, Gabi," I said. "But if I'm the rotten egg, what are you?"

I wanted to know if he understood the expression.

"Hmm...," he struggled.

"I know, I know!" he finally replied. "I'm the normal egg."
