Patty and I always encourage our kids to make their own gifts. A drawing, a painting. Even a poem or a song. These gifts we appreciate more because we know they worked hard to make it. And oftentimes, these gifts also surprise us with how our kids see us.
In his card Gabi drew what he appreciated about me. The travels and the soccer was expected. But what surprised me was that he also cherished the time he spent in the office, doing little things for me and just playing quietly in my company.
Bela on the other hand appreciates my funny faces. Of all things. ;)
